Manual Thermal Evaluation (MTE) is a core palpation technique taught in the Engaging Vitality Introductory Module Series. Developed by Jean-Pierre Barral, MTE utilizes sensitivity to temperature changes to identify dysfunction in the body.
In this introductory webinar, Engaging Vitality teachers will show how to perform MTE and discuss its wide-ranging applicability for practitioners of traditional East Asian Medicine as it can help us:
Discover areas of the body that can benefit by being addressed with acupuncture or other modalities
Discern more effective point selection
Refine needle depth and angle
Provide feedback that our treatments are effectively engaging the body’s self-healing mechanisms
Clarify diagnosis
This class will include instruction on how to perform Manual Thermal Evaluation. For this reason it’s recommended that webinar participants have a partner, friend, or fellow student available during the webinar to practice on.
Prerequisite: Open to all licensed acupuncturists as well as current-enrolled students with needling experience***
